Chronika

25.06.2025 - 19:00 / Tempel Synagogue, ul. Miodowa 24

Chronika is a ‘conscious party’ that breaks down musical and societal barriers. It’s tradition on acid, a celebration of respect for culture, language, and the joy of that celebration. The concert seamlessly integrates Yiddish music, Klezmer, electronic music and psychedelia, marking it as London’s most advanced integration of traditional and experimental sounds to date. Chronika is the fifth release by Frank London’s Klezmer Brass Allstars.

Frank London, trumpeter and composer of the Grammy Award-winning Klezmatics is gearing up to release “Chronika” – a vibrant dance record that melds Klezmer, Hasidic, world music and electronic musical influences. Recorded in 2008 during the peak of New York City’s Balkan dance club scene, the recordings sat dormant for 15 years and will now see the light of day via Borscht Beat, the premier Klezmer record label.

“Chronika” originated from an inebriated plan between London and Bulgarian DJ Joro-Boro during a night at one of New York’s renowned dance clubs. The recording session, a two-day musical marathon with Frank’s Klezmer Brass Allstars and special guests, resulted in an epic blend of traditional and electronic sounds.

Life’s demands and other musical engagements led to the shelving of the project. However, the memories persisted, and with the slowdown in post-pandemic touring, Frank London revisited the recordings, recognizing the opportune moment to complete and share this unique musical journey.
