28.06.2025 - 15:30 / Żydowskie Muzeum Galicja, ul. Dajwór 18Poland’s Solidarity movement succeeded in an unprecedented non-violent transformation of Poland from communist rule to democratic governance. It was not a closed chapter. Its legacy continues and can be seen in Poland, Europe and other parts of the world.
Solidarity activists, engaged particularly with the underground media, reflect on their experiences in the democratic opposition, how their lives after 1989 were influenced by their political activism, and what they are doing today. They are joined by the chronicler of their accomplishments and challenges during moments of political struggle for democracy, spanning the 1960s through to the 1980s.
This is an accompanying event organized by the Galicia Jewish Museum.
